The Highfield Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work is a one-day, Ofqual-regulated course designed for individuals who will act as emergency first-aiders in the workplace. This qualification meets the legal requirements under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations in both England and Northern Ireland. Delegates will learn how to assess emergency situations, perform CPR and use an AED, as well as provide first aid for choking, bleeding, shock, burns, and other minor injuries. Certification is valid for three years, and retraining is required to remain qualified.

  • This course is ideal for individuals who are designated to act as emergency first-aiders in the workplace. It is suitable for any organisation that, through its risk assessment, has identified the need for basic first aid training.

  • Delegates will be trained in:

    • The roles and responsibilities of a first aider

    • Safe assessment of emergency situations

    • CPR and the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)

    • First aid for choking, shock, burns, scalds, minor injuries, and bleeding

  • Yes. This qualification is regulated by Ofqual, CCEA (Northern Ireland), and Qualifications Wales, and is awarded by Highfield, one of the UK’s leading providers of compliance qualifications.

  • The Emergency First Aid at Work certificate is valid for three years. To maintain certification, learners will need to re-complete the course once it expires. Refresher training is recommended annually to keep skills sharp.
