The Introduction to Solar Installation Training is a beginner-friendly course designed for those looking to start a career in the solar industry. Ideal for new entrants, labourers, or existing construction workers and electricians wanting to upskill, this course provides a strong foundation in solar panel installation for domestic and commercial rooftops. Delegates will gain essential safety certifications in Manual Handling, Working at Height, and Introduction to Solar Installations. A CSCS Green Card is required to work on-site—this can be obtained by completing the optional CITB Health & Safety Awareness course, which adds one extra day to the training.

  • This course is perfect for anyone starting a career in the solar industry, including entry-level labourers, general construction workers, and electricians looking to learn the basics of solar PV roof installations.

  • Upon completion, you will receive training and certification in:

    • Manual Handling

    • Working at Height

    • Introduction to Solar Installations
      You will also gain basic knowledge of how to safely assist with the installation, fitting, and testing of photovoltaic panels on rooftops.

  • Yes, the CSCS Green Card is mandatory for all on-site work. If you don’t already have one, you will need to complete the CITB Health & Safety Awareness course and pass the touchscreen test. This course can be added to your booking and extends your training by one additional day.

  • To stay compliant with current safety standards and industry best practices, we recommend refreshing this training every 2 years by completing the Solar Basic Training Module Refresher course.
