The LEEA Slinger & Banksman Course is designed for personnel working in onshore and offshore lifting operations, particularly those involved in signalling cranes and slinging loads. Delivered by accredited instructors, the course focuses on safe practices, communication methods, equipment selection, and legal responsibilities involved in lifting operations. Delegates will develop the practical and theoretical knowledge to carry out tasks confidently, safely, and compliantly. On successful completion of the written and practical assessments, delegates will receive a LEEA-accredited certificate, valid for three years.

  • This course is ideal for individuals working onshore or offshore who are responsible for signalling crane movements and slinging loads, including construction, oil & gas, marine, and industrial sectors.

  • Delegates will learn how to:

    • Attach lifting accessories to various load types

    • Communicate using hand signals and radios

    • Identify load weight and centre of gravity

    • Understand sling angles, lift plans, and equipment documentation

    • Manage proximity hazards and perform lifts safely

  • Delegates will complete a written exam and be continuously assessed through practical exercises that test their ability to carry out lifts in real-world scenarios using correct procedures and signals.

  • Delegates should have a basic understanding of the environment in which they perform lifting duties. Upon passing, they will receive a LEEA-accredited certificate, valid for three years, recognised across the lifting industry globally.
