The SMSTS Refresher course is designed for individuals who hold a valid SMSTS or SMSTSR certificate and continue to have responsibilities for planning, monitoring, controlling, organizing, or managing staff. It is ideal for professionals in roles such as Site Manager, Project Manager, and Health and Safety Manager.
The course covers a broad range of key topics, including:

Effective communication strategies to promote a strong health and safety culture.

Legal responsibilities, working at height, manual handling, fire prevention, and safe use of work equipment.

The assessment includes a 25-question multiple-choice exam, with a required pass mark of 72%. The exam must be completed within 30 minutes.
Successful candidates will receive a CITB SMSTS Refresher certificate, which is valid for five years. For those looking to expand their knowledge further or pursue a career as a Health and Safety Advisor, completing the IOSH Managing Safely course is recommended.
