The CTS Solar Installation Competency Programme (Roof Mount) is a hands-on, practical training course designed for professionals already qualified in Working at Height and Harness Awareness. Ideal for roofers, scaffolders, electricians, and construction workers, this course provides proof of competency in installing solar panels on both residential (slate and clay tiles) and commercial (flat roofing) settings. Delegates will gain up-to-date knowledge of solar technologies, safety legislation, and the steps to becoming an approved installer. While the qualification does not expire, a refresher is recommended every two years to stay current with industry standards. A CSCS Green Card is required for on-site work.

Yes. Delegates must already have a Working at Height qualification and Harness Awareness. A general level of fitness is also required due to the physical nature of the practical training. If you don’t meet these requirements, we recommend starting with our Introduction to Solar Installation course.
Yes, a CSCS Green Card is mandatory for working on construction sites. If you don’t already have one, you’ll also need to complete a CITB Health & Safety Awareness course, which can be booked alongside this training at Complete Training Solutions.
